Event Description

The Collaborating for Impact event aims to culminate the wPOWER project through an overhaul presentation of our specific activities, successes, lesson learned, challenges and recommendations for future actions.

The event will be held on September 12 – 13, 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya and will bring together donors, policymakers, advocates, implementers, and technology manufacturers.

Every country, city and sector is approaching the energy transition with a unique set of issues. The pace and scale of strategies needed to meet Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 and the Paris Agreement must be tailored to local contexts to ensure no one is left behind. Not only that, but achieving SDG7 is essential to deliver economic, social and environmental benefits for all. Open and honest discussion is needed to address remaining challenges and unmet needs.

The event’s working language for the Plenaries will be in English only.

Financial Arrangements

Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs however few scholarships will be issued.

Participants are advised to process all travel documents that they may require for their travel to Nairobi, Kenya. Although a visa can be processed upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, it is advisable that these documents be processed before travel is commenced to avoid any inconveniences. You can apply for single entry and transit visas on the e-visas website. For other types of visa, apply at your nearest Kenyan High Commission or Embassy.
