Partnership on Women’s Entrepreneurship in Renewables (wPOWER) Partnership Manager, Simon Kiragu has been awarded the Young Leaders in Energy Access Award in honor of his role in advocating for clean energy access among grassroots women in Kenya. The Energy Access Award recognizes advances and contributions towards improving energy access in Africa.

“Winning the energy award has marked a significant turning point for me in terms of learning to truly value my experience, skills and commitment to this industry. It has helped create opportunities for me to raise my voice on issues to do with gender equality in clean energy’’ said Simon Kiragu

Simon will join 5 other young leaders at the ARE Energy Access Investment Forum held on March 22-23 in Lisbon, Portugal where they will share their ideas and recommendations to improve energy access in Africa with a wide group of energy experts and high-level stakeholders, including the European Commission, the African Union Commission, the UN and the World Bank .
